Amtl. Mitteilung des Landes Tirol: Quarantäne für alle 279 Tiroler Gemeinden (in Englisch)

Dear Tyroleans,

At present, Tyrol is actually in one of the most difficult situations we ever had in post-war times. As Landeshauptmann of Tyrol it is my task to prevent with all force and consequence that we do get circumstances like in parts of Italy.

Tyrol has always been a country, loving freedom, and we have always stuck together when necessary.

This is necessary now as well. Tyrol protects itself.

Dear Tyroleans,

We will now take measures in order to mutually protect each other that this virus does not spread further and that we will be able to again live in the country as we like it as quickly as possible.

For this reason the province of Tyrol is ordering a traffic restriction:

 In principle, a traffic restriction applies for all persons, staying in Tyrol.

 Nobody is permitted to leave his/her flat without a convincing reason.

 There are, however, some exceptions. These exceptions are:

 professionaly necessary reasons, medical care, supply with basic needs, return to one’s own place of residence, and, if justified reasons to leave the country prevail. People are only permitted to leave their own house in exceptional cases. It is, however, permitted to go shopping, to make purchases at pharmacies, to withdraw money from cash dispensers, to see the doctor, or to take out the dog.

 The way to the working place and back home is also permitted. However, people are required to work from home, if possible. Visits with elderly people and minors, physically weakened persons and disabled are permitted.

 You are further permitted to make purchases and to do errands for people who cannot leave their flat or who should not leave it because of their old age.

 The executive is permitted to stop persons and cars and to make controls that these new measures are being complied with.

 For the time being these measures are valid for 1 week and will come into force today with the announcement of this order.

I am aware that I demand a lot from you, but it is necessary.

 It is necessary that you protect yourself.

 It is necessary that you protect others.

 But it is also necessary that we lead our country back into normality soon.

International experience shows that it is only possible to contain this virus if all of us subject ourselves to extreme restrictions. All female and male Tyroleans can further practice their profession, therefore the safety of supply of our country remains ensured among other things. I can guarantee this.

In this connection I would also like to thank those who performed superhuman feats during the past days and who still do it:

 All the doctors

 All the nursing staffs

 All the pharmacists

 All the cooperators in foodstuff trade

 All those who guarantee the basic supply like drivers of foodstuff transports and cooperators of the post

 All organs of the executive, flashing blue light organizations and cooperators of crisis committees.

 In particular I would also like to thank the Federal Government and Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz for the very good cooperation and that they do everything to contain the virus.

It is important for me that in such an extraordinary situation a psycho-social service is being installed, which is available for your personal concerns and that you have someone to speak to when you feel lonely.

Dear Tyroleans,

I feel that you are all staying together in this difficult time and that you understand that these measures are necessary to protect ourselves. This is the only way to succeed in bringing back the time we are longing for as quickly as possible. I am also impressed and touched when I hear stories every day how you offer mutual assistance and how you support elderly or sick persons.

I am just incredibly proud of you!

Our watchword now is “stay at home, we’ll make it” (dahoam bleiben, wir packen’s)
